Kone secures order in Las Vegas

Finnish lift and escalator maker Kone received a major order to supply and install its elevators, transit escalators and autowalks for the new Terminal 3 at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas, USA. Once installed, the Kone solutions will be an integral part of McCarran's facility plans that enable safe and efficient handling of massive people flows of over 50 million passengers per year. The value of the deal is approximately EUR 32 million.

The airport expansion will include a new terminal building with an elevated roadway structure fronting the facility, over-roadway pedestrian bridges, people-moving Automated Transit System (ATS) and an aircraft ramp.

The installation of Kone's solutions is expected to start in the fall of 2009 and is estimated to be completed by December 2011.
