Bouygues Construction renovates hotel in Paris

Bouygues Construction subsidiary Bouygues Bātiment Īle-de-France has started renovation of the Royal Monceau, a celebrated luxury hotel in Paris. The 36 million euro contract covers the first phase of works.

The hotel will be totally refurbished to provide a floor area of 14,000 sq.m. It will have 150 rooms plus a spa/fitness centre, two restaurants, a ballroom, and a business centre. Architectural aspects are the responsibility of Didier Poignant and design is by Philippe Starck.

The works will run for 18 months and will see as many as 500 staff on site at times. The Royal Monceau Hotel will open to guests again at the end of 2009.
