Nuremberg duo brings everyone together around one table

Whether newcomer or global player, the Holz-Handwerk and fensterbau/frontale duo from 2-5 April 2008 brings everyone together around one table – or rather in all 16 halls of the exhibition centre. The two exhibitions for the wood crafts and everything for windows, doors and facades attracted over 100,000 trade visitors to Nuremberg for the last event two years ago.

The fensterbau/frontale and Holz-Handwerk exhibitions have taken place in Nuremberg at the same time since 1992. This combination offers exhibitors and visitors lots of synergies as the themes in many product segments are related – and attendance at both exhibitions is possible with just one entrance ticket. A good 63,000 trade visitors sourced information from 840 exhibitors in the first year of the duo and over 100,000 trade visitors and almost 1,184 exhibitors in 2006. The number of exhibitors at the 2008 event has risen to 1,276 and the net display space has grown by 16 per cent to a total of almost 90,000 m².

The demand for space at fensterbau/frontale 2008 is noticeably bigger than in 2006, particularly from exhibitors in the segments of locking systems, shading, doors and front door panels. There are also appreciably more aluminium products at fensterbau/frontale 2008. The supporting programme for architects and building planners has also been expanded in line with this trend. The Forum Architecture – Windows – Facades, which over 800 architects attended in 2006, the associated Innovation Award, the Architects' Area, where exhibiting companies offer information specifically for architects and building planners, and the IBS Award + Conference also make fensterbau/frontale in Nürnberg the ideal platform for practical problem solutions for this target group.

Other drop-in centres devoted to the current major topic of energy conservation are spread around the exhibition: the "Glass and Energy Conservation" advisory centre of the Bundesverband Flachglas e. V. and the Landesinnungsverband des Bayerischen Glaserhandwerks, the special show "frontal attack on climate change" organized by the Fachverband Glas Fenster Fassade Baden-Württemberg and the Institute for Window Technology (ift), the "metallbauTreff" get-together with the publisher Bauverlag and the magazine metallbau, and the conference on "Glass bonding in window production – from experiment to state of the art" organized by the magazine Glaswelt.

Holz-Handwerk is again the big get-together in 2008 for carpenters, joiners and furnishing consultants, plus architects and interior designers. Besides the products and services of the exhibitors, Holz-Handwerk offers interesting extra information in its supporting programme: This year, the Fachverband Schreinerhandwerk Bayern presents "Image Promotion for the Carpentry Trade", "Employee Motivation" with the presentation of the Thalhofer Award, and "Light Construction in the Carpentry Trade". The action forum vector provides an overview of pioneering innovations from the exhibitors at Holz-Handwerk 2008. The forum directed by the Fachverband Holzbearbeitungsmaschinen im VDMA and the ProWood Trust gives visitors the opportunity to see new products presented live by the exhibitors. The attractive special show "Dreams of Wood" again presents articles of wood ranging from decorative, creative and artistic objects to lovingly designed wooden toys – for admiring and buying.
