Zumtobel concepts at EuroShop in Düsseldorf

With new LED-based luminaires and intelligent lighting management systems, Zumtobel, the Austrian-based lighting group, made use of EuroShop in Düsseldorf, the premier international trade fair for investment goods for the retail trade, to present a range of dynamic and energy-efficient lighting solutions. The TridonicAtco brand used its first appearance at EuroShop to launch the TALEXXengine, an innovative LED system for use in refrigerated shelves and chillers. Zumtobel presented lighting concepts for various retail settings, including boutiques, supermarkets and shopping malls. One key focus of each scenario was on making optimum use of potential energy savings, an aspect that struck a chord with visitors. International retail chains in particular used this opportunity to talk to Zumtobel about commissioning the development of energy-efficient shop lighting concepts, all the way to rolling out the lighting solutions at their retail outlets around the world.

LED technology was the key innovation driver in the new products on display. Along with a new downlight featuring LEXEL technology, Zumtobel also showcased the video-compatible modular luminous ceiling CIELOS – already a triple design award-winner – and a new range of pendant luminaires designed by Matteo Thun that can also be fitted with LED modules.

On its first appearance at EuroShop, TridonicAtco too focused on the LED trend. Along with LED chains for illuminated signs, the Zumtobel Group's components and systems subsidiary presented an innovative LED system for use in refrigerated shelves and chillers. This product opens up a whole new market segment for TridonicAtco with substantial growth potential. Compared to conventional fluorescent lamps, the new TALEXXengine, as it is called, presents an impressive drop in energy consumption, steadier light and a longer service life. Pilot tests have already demonstrated a 50% reduction in energy costs, with the higher initial outlay being repaid in three to four years.
