Shaw to assist GE in cleanup of the Hudson River

Shaw Group announced that its Environmental & Infrastructure Group has been awarded a contract by the General Electric for work on the Upper Hudson River dredging project.

Once dredging begins, Shaw will operate the processing facilities needed to manage sediments that are dredged from the Upper Hudson River. These facilities include a barge terminal where sediments will be delivered and unloaded; a dewatering building with specialized equipment that will press water from dredged sediments; a water treatment plant that will remove polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) from the water; and large railroad staging facilities for the rail cars transporting the processed sediment for disposal.
