Tegrant Corporation awarded grant from Green Building Alliance

Tegrant Corporation, Protexic Brands is proud to announce being awarded a Product Innovation Grant by the Green Building Alliance (GBA). In co-alliance with the University of Pittsburgh, Protexic Brands' Building Products Group is the recipient of a grant to investigate the environmental life cycle assessment, performance, and economic benefits of expanded polystyrene for construction materials and supplies. Grants were awarded to seven Pennsylvania recipients through a competitive selection process. GBA's Product Innovation Grants will expedite the commercialization of new building products within the fast growing green building market.

The benefits of Insulated Concrete Forms (ICFs) include energy savings, increased indoor air quality and efficient construction activity. This study will investigate the accuracy of these findings as well as perform a comparative analysis against traditional construction methods. Certifying the benefits associated with ICFs will create an increased demand for them in commercial and residential construction. Tegrant Corporation is the largest ICF manufacturer in North America and it's participation in this project will be beneficial as they expand their current marketing strategy to include contractors, large homebuilders, commercial builders, and resort owners/developers.
