fensterbau/frontale combines international know-how

fensterbau/frontale, which takes place together with Holz-Handwerk in the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg from 2-5 April 2008, combines the international know-how of the industries concerned at this four-day event. Whether rising energy prices or responsible environmental protection – potential energy conservation is an issue that concerns everyone. Modern window and facade technology offers a variety of possibilities for clearly cutting the cost of heating and cooling buildings and saving money and reducing pollutant emissions at the same time. Not only the Energy Conservation Act (EnEV) in force in Germany, but also concrete economic and ecological arguments support taking action now to introduce tailor-made solutions.

World-leading exhibitors at fensterbau/frontale 2008 show a variety of options for optimizing existing buildings and planning pioneering new building projects. The 4th Forum Architecture – Windows – Facades on 2 April 2008 is also devoted to this issue. The forum under the heading of "from the structure to the skin ... and back" focuses on sustainability, energy efficiency and CO2 reduction.

Technical background and practical applications are also provided by the special show entitled "frontal attack on climate change", which deals with energy conservation, energy recovery, building renovation and CO2 reduction. Information on the energy conservation role of glass and windows in building renovation and specific support from the craft trade for implementation are also offered by the "Glass and Energy Conservation" Advisory Centre.

The supporting programme at fensterbau/frontale 2008 also has other established and new highlights to offer. For example, the Innovation Award Architecture – Windows – Facades for architects, planning engineers and manufacturers.

A jury of well-known architects and planners presents the IBS Award (International Building Skin) for pioneering and integrated facade solutions in international projects. The prize-winning projects are presented publicly in a special show. The IBS Award acts as the nucleus for the IBS Conference, which establishes the subject of building skins at the Nürnberg exhibition venue.

Following its premiere at fensterbau/frontale 2006, the metallbauTreff is organized again by the magazine "metallbau" and NürnbergMesse as a drop-in centre and communication forum for metalworkers.
