NCC to renovate 1,000 rental apartments for Väsbyhem

NCC is continuing to work on pipe replacement and surface renovation on behalf of municipally owned Väsbyhem. Stage Three is now to be initiated, during which 96 rental apartments will be renovated. The order is worth SEK 64 million and is part of a five-year partnering agreement that encompasses the renovation of approximately 1,000 apartments. The combined order value of the agreement with Väsbyhem is about SEK 500 million. The rental apartments to be renovated are located in the Runby and Apoteksskogen areas of Upplands Väsby.

"The apartment blocks were built in the 1960s and are in need of renovation. We will be replacing water, sewage and electricity piping in the apartments. Bathrooms and ventilation systems will be upgraded and stairwells will be repainted. In addition, all of the apartments will be equipped with security doors. For certain properties, the renovation of façades and balconies may also be required," says NCC's Business Manager, Lars-Erik Einerman. All of the apartments will have fully tiled bathrooms with floor heating. In certain units, kitchen interiors will also be replaced.

The project will extend over a five-year period and comprise between 200 and 300 apartments annually. Work will be concentrated around Runby for the first three years and will then move on to Apoteksskogen.
