Turner wins contract from General Electric

The Turner Corporation, a subsidiary of German construction group Hochtief, was selected to serve as the construction manager and provide preconstruction services for a production facility of General Electric Healthcare in New York state. The contract volume amounts to some EUR 112 million (USD 165 million).

General Electric will produce state-of-the-art digital X-ray mammography machines in the new facility. The building will have a total space of almost 14,000 square meters and is expected to be completed in December 2008. General Electric is a repeat customer of Turner: The two companies first worked together as long ago as 1913. Among the large number of projects Turner realized for General Electric is the latter's headquarters in Fairfield, Connecticut.
