Komatsu America launches new hydraulic excavator

Komatsu America Corp., a U.S. subsidiary of Komatsu Ltd. which is the world's second largest manufacturer and supplier of construction, mining and compact construction equipment, introduced its new PC300HD-8 hydraulic excavator. Komatsu has developed an upgraded version of this model, distinguished by an enhanced cab design for superior operator comfort and control as well as the same stability, performance and reliability features that differentiated this model's predecessor in the market place.

The PC300HD-8 combines the PC300LC-8 upper structure with the PC400LC-8 fixed gauge undercarriage, providing for superior stability and lift capacity in its competitive size class. This powerful machine has a flywheel horsepower of 246 HP and an operating weight of 85,085 to 88,551 pounds.

The PC300HD-8 is equipped with the latest Komtrax technology (Level 3), which sends machine operating information to a secure website utilizing wireless technology. Data such as operating hours, location, cautions and maintenance alerts are relayed to the web application for analysis. The Komtrax fleet monitoring system increases machine availability, reduces the risk of machine theft, allows for remote diagnosis by the distributor, and provides a wealth of other information to drive business efficiency and productivity.
