MAPIC Awards to pay tribute to shopping centres

The race for the MAPIC Awards 2007 has now begun. This thirteenth edition has broken the all-time participation record with no less than 42 projects from 19 countries. The jury, presided by Sharon Fernandez Cavada King, Director of the Retail Department at DTZ Asesores Inmobiliarios Internacionales, will choose seven winners from the submitted projects, all of which are showcased at MAPIC, to be held in Cannes from 14 to 16 November.

For the past twelve years, the MAPIC Awards have paid tribute to international retailers who have shown a dynamic approach in their search for commercial locations abroad. For the first time this year, a new category has been dedicated to shopping centres which stand out for the originality of their concept, their architectural and environmental qualities, and their service provision.

The winners, six retailers and a shopping centre, will be unveiled at the prize giving ceremony on 15 November at 7pm in the Théâtre Debussy at the Palais des Festivals, preceded by a fashion show of Triumph lingerie, the MAPIC Awards 2007 sponsor.
