Nemetschek's 3D tool for reinforced concrete design

Nemetschek's Allplan BIM 2008 Engineering sets new standards in 3D design and detailing of reinforced concrete structures. New functions for reinforcing round components, an optimised way of collaborating and up-to-date 3D manufacturers' data all help to notably improve processes in the engineering office. Allplan BIM 2008 Engineering also marks the start of a new age in structural engineering as it uses Nemetschek Round-Trip Engineering to support the interaction of CAD and CAE.

The new version allows users to adapt the product to suit their preferred method of working or project requirements. Allplan BIM 2008 Engineering offers a complete range of CAD functions – from traditional working in 2D, to a hybrid way of working with 2D formwork and 3D reinforcement to formwork and reinforcement planning in 3D. Full use is made of the potential of Round-Trip Engineering, the integrated solution for structural engineering.

The efficiency of Allplan BIM 2008 is best seen in individual construction projects with complex geometries. Round components like circular foundations, walls or slabs can be easily reinforced with the new functions for annular and spiral reinforcements. Thanks to additional predefined reinforcement elements, the new version also produces collision-free reinforcement proposals for complex planning objects like columns with cantilevers. Changes to the design are automatically updated in all plans and lists without any inconsistencies, eliminating the need for multiple entries.
