| Bouygues Immobilier wins prize for Mozart Tower  Bouygues Immobilier has won first prize in the "High Rise Buildings" category at the 2007 EcoBuilding Performance exhibition, held between 18 and 20 September 2007 in Paris. This prize is awarded to the project considered to be most significant in terms of environmental and energy quality. A building with a total floor area of 45,000 sq. metres, Mozart Tower is located in the future Seine Ouest business district of Issy-les-Moulineaux. Designed by US firm Arquitectonica, Mozart Tower fully satisfies demanding standards for environmental efficiency, project management and site integration.Bouygues Immobilier's project was in competition with the Bank of America Tower in New York (Cook and Fox Architects), the Hearst Tower in New York (Foster and Partners), the High Rise Office Building in Qatar (Jean Nouvel) and the Maroc Telecom Tower in Rabat (Jean-Paul Viguier). In-depth studies were conducted on the orientation of Mozart Tower, which has been designed to ensure the comfort of both occupants and local residents. The architecture, which places the emphasis on curves and reflections, lets light in at all levels, without overshadowing neighbouring buildings. At the same time, the building is positioned to act as a sound barrier, reducing noise from the nearby ring road. Mozart Tower is a showcase in environmental technology. It achieved an excellent score in the HQE Batiments Tertiaires certification process (high environmental quality in office buildings), with high or very high ratings for 11 criteria out of 14. For example, the roof includes 1,000 sq. metres of photovoltaic panels. Also, the North and South faзades feature a new-generation double skin structure. Their characteristics differ depending on which way the faзades face in order to maximise energy exchanges between the inside and outside. The success of this project also involved understanding the requirements of the building's users. Bouygues Telecom, which will use this building as its head office, wanted to create an open environment to foster dialogue. As a result, Mozart Tower will include a vast reception hall as well as several meeting areas.
