Strabag to construct roads in Qatar

Austrian construction giant Strabag has landed two important large-scale projects in Qatar. With the construction of the 8km dual-carriageway New Izghawa Link Road (contract volume: € 35.6 million) and the 35km motorway in Wakrah North & South (contract volume: € 43.4 million), Strabag is realising its first road construction projects in the country. Construction on both projects is set to begin before the end of September 2007, with completion planned in 2009 following a construction period of 18 and 27 months, respectively. Ordering party for both projects is the state of Qatar.

In addition to the ongoing major project to build the world's second gas-to-liquids facility for Shell (contract volume: € 72.5 million), the construction of a beach villa for the Emir of Qatar and the interior work on the Misnad Tower in Qatar's capital Doha are nearing completion.
