Zumtobel implemented biggest LED order ever

Zumtobel, a brand of the Zumtobel Group, has implemented pioneering LED installations to the value of almost EUR 1 million at the Stadioncenter mall in Vienna. The lighting solutions for the newly opened shopping mall represent the biggest LED project to date for Zumtobel. In the course of the project, no less than six new LED solutions were developed. The lighting concept forms a core factor in the architecture of the mall: the leading-edge lighting technology is designed to create a pleasant, seasonal and event-related atmosphere for shoppers. One special attraction is a 23-metre icefall - a frozen waterfall one metre thick that can be lit with changing colours to enhance the retail experience. The entire mall represents an investment of EUR 75 million on the part of the developer IG Immobilien.

The six LED lighting solutions integrated into this project were developed within the Zumtobel Group by LED applications specialist Ledon. The impressive aspects of the lighting solutions include their individual designs and the rich variety of possible lighting scenarios. Along with various LED light tiles and LED light chains, 324 ceiling-mounted LED media luminaires, each with 144 LEDs, are the main attraction on the lighting front. The ability to control each LED point in a media luminaire individually means that light shows, text, images and videos can all be displayed with smooth colour transitions.
