Aecom wins contract for Minneapolis-St. Paul light rail project

Aecom Technology Corporation, a leading provider of professional technical and management support services for government and commercial clients around the world, has announced that it will serve as prime consultant for the approximately $930-million Minneapolis-St. Paul Central Corridor Light Rail Transit (CCLRT) project.

Experts from Aecom's transportation practice area, led by DMJM Harris, are being supported by the company's urban planning practice in managing the project, which has a total contract value of nearly $91 million. Services will include preliminary engineering, final design and design-support services during construction.

The Central Corridor project will integrate with the Hiawatha Light Rail Transit line, which currently serves Minneapolis' business district, Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and the Mall of America. Additionally, the railway will connect the University of Minnesota, the state Capitol complex and downtown St. Paul.
