Rust Constructors earns National Safety Award

Rust Constructors, a Washington Group International subsidiary, has earned another national safety award, its second in less than a year. The Birmingham-based company has been honored with a National Safety Excellence Award by Associated Builders and Contractors, an organization representing more than 24,000 merit shop construction and construction-related firms across the United States.

Rust Constructors is a full-service merit shop construction and maintenance company that provides construction, construction management, construction consulting, and plant services, including maintenance and small capital project support.

Rust Constructors was one of three firms to receive the award in the General Contractor category. Selection criteria included lost workday case rates, interviews conducted by members of ABC's National Environmental, Health and Safety Committee, and self-evaluation scores.

In November 2006, Rust Constructors was named one of America's 10 safest companies by Occupational Hazards, a leading magazine of safety, health, and loss prevention.
