| HNTB selected for University of Iowa Carver-Hawkeye Arena addition The University of Iowa has selected HNTB Architecture Inc. and Neumann Monson Architects to design the Carver-Hawkeye Arena addition and renovation project. When completed, the Carver-Hawkeye Arena addition will include a practice facility for men's basketball, women's basketball and women's volleyball. The renovation will include an update and expansion of the athletic department's offices. Spectators also will enjoy upgraded premium seating within Carver-Hawkeye Arena and improved access to arena amenities. The Carver-Hawkeye Arena has received only minor modifications since it was built in 1983. The addition, to be constructed immediately north of the arena, and renovation came about as the athletic program was struggling to balance the schedules of men's and women's basketball, wrestling and volleyball in one facility.
