Hochtief JV secures EUR 350 million contract in St. Petersburg

German giant Hochtief Construction AG, together with Dutch partner Royal Boskalis, is to realize a flood protection project in St. Petersburg with a volume of EUR 350 million. A contract to this effect has just been concluded with the client, the state-owned company Rosstroy. The Hochtief share is 40 percent.

The project forms part of an extensive flood protection program in St. Petersburg, which is due to be completed in 2012. The Hochtief joint venture will close a 2.6 km long gap in the barrage structure intended to protect the St. Petersburg region from storm-tides. Within the barrage, the partners will build a tunnel and ramp structure for road traffic, with a total length of 730 meters.
