Endesa builds new wind farm in Muzillac

Endesa France has signed a contract with Ecotecnia France to build its fourth wind farm in France, with installed capacity of 10.02 MW. The wind farm will be located in Muzillac on the Gulf of Morbihan (Brittany), less than 10 km from the Ambon wind farm which is currently being built, also by Ecotecnia France. Investment in this project will total Euro 13.8 million.

The Muzillac facility will be equipped with six ECO 80 turbines each with a capacity of 1.67 MW and measuring 70 meters in height with a rotor diameter of 80 metres. The excavation and civil engineering work is expected to commence in the first quarter of 2008, with the farm staled to come on stream on 15 October.

The wind farm's annual output is the equivalent of the consumption of approximately 22,000 people and it will save approximately 20,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions each year.
