Leighton Contractors wins contract worth over $500 million

Leighton Contractors' Mining Division has been awarded a new life of mine contract, expected to be worth in excess of $500 million over the next 5 years, by Australian mining company, Custom Mining (Middlemount) Pty Ltd. Under the contract Leighton Contractors will perform bulk and selective coal mining operations at Custom Mining's Middlemount coal project. The project is situated approximately 15 kilometres from Middlemount in Central Queensland. Production from Middlemount will include a mix of hard coking coal and low volatile pulverised coal injection coal.
