Black & Veatch selected for butanes fractionator project in Trinidad

Black & Veatch, a leading global engineering, consulting and construction company, has been awarded a contract by Phoenix Park Gas Processors Limited (PPGPL) to construct a new butanes fractionator at PPGPL's Port Lisas natural gas processing and natural gas liquids (NGL) fractionation facility in Trinidad.

Black & Veatch will handle engineering, procurement and construction of the butanes fractionator. Upon completion, the fractionator will produce 3,500 barrels per day of isobutane, which will be provided to a nearby 165,000 barrel-per-day petroleum refinery for use in a new alkylation unit to enhance gasoline production.

The butanes fractionator project is scheduled to be completed in mid 2008. Initial engineering, procurement and site preparation activities are underway.
