Acciona Windpower to supply wind turbines for windparks in the USA

Acciona Windpower, an Acciona group company that works in the design, production and marketing of wind turbines and the assembly and construction of wind energy facilities, will supply Naturener, a Spanish renewables company, with, 200 of its AW 77/1500 class II wind turbines, totalling 300 MW capacity. The contract is worth over 300 million euros. The turbines will be installed in the McCormick Ranch windpark that Naturener USA, a subsidiary of Naturener, will construct in the State of Montana (USA) in 2008.

Naturener, a company in which the reference partners are the Belgian group Sapec (through Tharsis) and Caja Castilla La Mancha (CCM) Corporación, has wind power projects under development in Montana (USA) and Alberta (Canada) of around 1,800 MW.

Naturener, a company exclusively dedicated to renewables and with hydro and solar power assets in Spain, acquired two North American wind power development companies last year: Energylogics and Great Plains Wind & Energy, which are now called Naturener USA and Naturener Canada. It will develop its project portfolio over the next few years, starting with the 300 MW to be installed at McCormick Ranch.
