Black & Veatch and EDS to help energy clients meet NERC standards

Black & Veatch and EDS announced the two companies will collaborate on services for electric energy companies needing to comply with the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Cyber Security Standards.

EDS, a leading global technology services company, will work with Black & Veatch in performing compliance and vulnerability assessment activities and assisting with the design of secure supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) solutions. The combined approach leverages the utility domain expertise, network expertise and project management capabilities of Black & Veatch and the information technology infrastructure and network security expertise of EDS to deliver solutions that enable energy clients to meet or exceed NERC standards.

Black & Veatch's Cyber Security Service addresses all aspects of compliance. Based on a cyclical methodology of assess, remediate and maintain, it provides a risk-based approach that assists clients in fulfilling their security requirements from creation of the initial gap analysis through field implementation and future compliance monitoring, reporting and maintenance.
