Cat Logistics opens Russian distribution center

Caterpillar Logistics Services, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Caterpillar Inc., announced it will open its first parts distribution center in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) later this year. A 10,250-square-meter (110,300-square-feet) logistics center located in the Northwest of Moscow will support five Caterpillar dealers in the CIS region. The facility will stock more than 23,000 Caterpillar parts and will provide an integrated logistics solution including inbound, outbound, claims, returns and Caterpillar Remanufacturing core return services.

"The Russian distribution center is critical to our customers in the CIS region", said Paolo Fellin, Vice President of Caterpillar Inc. "This new facility will improve customer service by enabling dealers in Russia to receive next day emergency order service and significantly reduce stock order delivery time."

The parts distribution facility is expected to be fully operational by the end of September 2007.
