Poyry builds power plant in Finland

Poyry's Energy business group has been commissioned by Fortum Power and Heat Oy to provide services for a combined heat and power plant project in Finland. Poyry's services include complete engineering of the power plant as well as project management, procurement and construction management services. The value of the contract is over EUR 5 million. Fortum has decided to build a new power plant in connection with their existing Suomenoja power plant in Espoo, Finland. Producing 234 MW of electricity and 214 MW of district heat, the new gas turbine combined cycle power plant will use natural gas as fuel, reducing the use of coal and oil in the existing power plant. The power plant will be completed by the end of 2009.
