Chillventa sponsors develop supporting programme for visitors

The sponsors and the exhibition committee have drawn up concepts that will offer trade visitors at Chillventa Nürnberg an attractive programme of events from 15-17 October 2008.

Chillventa Nürnberg is the exhibition for refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation and heat pumps in Germany. Chillventa has all the qualities for an outstanding national and international performance, as it is based on co-operation between the exhibiting industry, wholesale companies, associations and training institutions. It is therefore a new initiative with new impetus for the whole industry. 227 companies from 27 countries have already registered for a net display area of 17,764 m² at the end of April, some 18 months before the event.

The supporting programme begins the day before Chillventa Nürnberg on 14 October 2008. Some of the individual programme items will be repeated on the various days of the exhibition to ensure that as many visitors as possible can visit the events. The congress presentations will naturally be translated simultaneously. The following papers will be provided by the sponsors; the actual speaker and exact subject and title will be announced later:

The ASERCOM Symposium, organized by the Association of European Refrigeration Compressor and Controls Manufacturers (ASERCOM) in cooperation with the European Partnership for Energy and the Environment (EPEE), will take place the day before Chillventa.

The ASERCOM Energy Efficiency Award will be organized again in 2008 and the presentation will take place at the official opening ceremony of Chillventa on the first day of the exhibition. The aim of the ASERCOM Energy Efficiency Award is to promote innovation in terms of energy efficiency in refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pumps.

The presentation on Absorption Refrigeration (Solar Cooling, Photovoltaic Systems) organized by the Institute for Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology (ILK Dresden) also takes place the day before Chillventa. This event is targeted at plant operators. This will be followed by a panel discussion directed by the Centre of Excellence for Energy Efficiency in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (kεkk) on Tuesday. The topic for this will be selected in consultation with ASERCOM and EPEE.

The Air Handling Technology Association (VDMA – ALT) is planning an event on "Industrial Refrigeration" and a presentation on "Energy-Efficient Fans".

The Refrigerated Cabinets Group, VDMA in cooperation with the German Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Association (DKV) and the EHI Retail Institute of Cologne is preparing presentations on "Refrigeration in the Food Trade".

The Institute of Building Air Conditioning (FGK) would like to offer visitors an Air Conditioning Symposium for the target group of planners during the exhibition.

The Federal College of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology of Maintal/Niedersachswerfen and the Federal Guild of German Refrigeration Plant Assemblers (BIV) will offer seminars dealing intensively with Personnel Development/Qualifications.

The BIV is also planning to organize the Federal Skills Competition at Chillventa. The final decision on this is to be made at the Guild Conference in autumn 2007.

The DKV will be responsible for the forums held in the halls during the exhibition. The topics for these are "Commercial Refrigeration", "Air Conditioning", "Heat Pumps (Heating Only)" and "Air Conditioning, Cooling, Heating – Reversible Equipment".

An International Heat Pump Symposium is to take place in the CongressCenter of the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg this year from 18-19 September 2007. This conference will be prepared and organized by Dr. Jakobs and Prof. Laue under DKV direction and organization and with the support of NürnbergMesse. The subject of this symposium: "Possibilities and limits for the use of heat pumps in private and commercial buildings.
