Metrovacesa to build a business park in Barcelona

Spain's largest real estate firm Metrovacesa has acquired a plot with a buildable area of 11,387 sq. metres in Barcelona's 22@ District, thus boosting its presence in the capital of Catalunya and in this district specifically. This quarter is expected to become an area of business concentration which will further strengthen Barcelona's position as one of the main springboards for innovation and the economy nationwide.

The real estate company bought this plot from La Vanguardia Ediciones, in a transaction assessed by Aquirre Newman. The block is located between the streets Lluc, Roc Boronat, Ramón Turró and Llacuna and will have a future buildable area of 11,387 sq. metres. Last July Metrovacesa bought an adjacent plot, with a buildable area of 9,300 sq. metres. Together they will house a new 20,687 sq. metre Business Park.

Moreover, in October the Metrovacesa Parc 22@ Business Park was inaugurated with 32,000 sq. metres of offices and shops. In past transactions, the company acquired plots with an area of over 17,000 sq. metres in this district. This means that the company currently has over 116,000 sq. metres at the project stage in Barcelona, of which 50,000 sq. metres are in District 22@.
