Paint - Finishing & Facade brings innovations closer to trades

Following a break of two years, the painting, varnishing and plastering trades will be meeting up once again for their largest trade event, Paint - Finishing & Facade 2007. This fair is set to attract all the leading players from the building supply industry, the services industry for the skilled trades, software experts, associations and publishers. Representatives of around 450 companies from over 25 countries will be in Cologne April 18-21, 2007 to talk over past, present and, above all, future developments in the sector. And as well as having plenty to talk about, they will also be bringing all the latest developments from over 450 product and service groups.

The major paint manufacturer Caparol (Deutsche Amphibolin-Werke von Robert Murjahn Stiftung & Co KG), for example, will be welcoming visitors to two stands at the fair. The company's main stand will be showcasing new products from the fields of paint, varnish and building protection, whereas the second Caparol stand will feature the latest in facade and insulation products. These include a completely new brand which has been specially developed for the preservation of listed buildings.

"Colourful people" is the slogan of the Sigma Coatings stand this year. The stand will be showcasing the very latest VOC-conformable varnishes as well as new developments from the field of functional paints, i.e. coatings enriched with additional substances from the fields of nanotechnology and photocatalysis.

There will also be a host of exciting products on show from the three major wallpaper manufacturers A.S. Création, Rasch and Marburg, all of which are appearing at the fair with new collections.

FEMA, an organization dedicated to promoting craftsmanship, promises to provide a show full of attractions. The FEMA Expedition features a series of themed islands with innovative product solutions designed to appeal to the customer.

In recent times, maxit has taken on the challenging task of developing products and systems that provide resistance against algae and fungus without the addition of biocidal agents to preserve surface coatings once applied. The result is a pioneering new technology that is not, as is customary, hydrophobic in nature - i.e. water repellent - but rather hydrophilic - i.e. having an affinity for water. The maxit stand at Paint - Finishing & Facade 2007 will be showcasing the products from the "top" range.

The presentations of Knauf Gips and Knauf Marmorit at Paint - Finishing & Facade 2007 will feature a range of groundbreaking innovations from the sectors for plastering, facades, drywall construction and floorings. Meanwhile, in the field of drywall construction, the focus will be on roof refurbishment with enhanced insulation.

Storch, the supplier of professional equipment, will be showcasing a new moisture meter, as well as a new wallpaper pasting machine with an innovative digital metre counter, a new hydraulic airless spray gun, a new mini feed pump and a new mobile suction device. In addition, the stand will feature a range of practical demonstrations such as designing with templates, low-mist spraying with LeOS, wastewater treatment, and the use of VOC varnishes.

Wagner, meanwhile, will be presenting three new products at Paint - Finishing & Facade 2007: two membrane pumps and a spiral pump based on a completely new concept.

The highlight at the Collomix stand will be the new series of handheld stirring machines. The Festool stand at this year's information and ordering platform for the painting and varnishing trade will be located alongside those of Protool and Schneider. Product highlights include tools for drywall construction and a new VOC sanding system as well as new products for sawing, sanding, drilling and screwing.
