Hearst Tower named 'Best New Skyscraper of the Year'

Hearst Tower in New York City has been crowned 'Best New Skyscraper of the Year for Design and Functionality' by Emporis, the Internet site dedicated to recording skyscrapers throughout the world. Hearst was selected from a pool of 467 eligible buildings (those of at least 100 metres in height), which were completed internationally in 2006.

The Silver Award for second place went to The Wave in Gold Coast City, near Brisbane and the Bronze Award goes to Eureka Tower in Melbourne.
