Earth Tech to monitor air quality in the Athabasca Oilsands region

The Wood Buffalo Environmental Association (WBEA) has selected Earth Tech for a three-year, multi-million dollar contract to monitor and maintain the network that provides real-time information on ambient air quality in Alberta's Athabasca Oilsands region.

Earth Tech will operate WBEA's Ambient Air Monitoring Network, which collects data round-the-clock on the amount of sulphur dioxide, hydrocarbons, nitric oxide and other substances in one of Canada's largest airsheds. The data is available to community stakeholders through WBEA's web site and, if an environmental regulatory limit is exceeded, communicated to Alberta Environment and the relevant WBEA industry members.
