Turner wins contracts by University of Kentucky

Turner Construction Company has been awarded two contracts totaling $317 million to provide construction management services for the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Ky.

The scope of work includes construction of a $300 million, 1 million sq.-ft. patient care facility and a 1,600-space parking garage. The hospital will be constructed in two phases, allowing for step-by-step replacement of the existing Albert B. Chandler hospital. Completion is scheduled for 2010.

In addition, Turner is serving as the construction manager for the University of Kentucky's Student Health Services Facility. The $17 million project will house the University's Health Services program and will include construction of 70, 000-sq.-ft. of medical offices, exam rooms and a pharmacy. Completion is scheduled for Spring 2008.
