Zlote Tarasy opens in Warsaw

Zlote Tarasy, the tallest high-rise mixed-use center in Warsaw, opened on February 7, 2007 to a flurry of excitement with more than 100,000 visitors attending the Grand Opening celebration. The 2-million square-foot mixed-use center, which combines office, entertainment, retail, dining, one of the largest glass roofs in the world and the first Hard Rock Café in Central Europe, is expected to attract 12 million visitors during its first year, ignite further development in the central business district and help reconnect Warsaw's urban grid, much of which was destroyed during WWII.

The Los Angeles-based Jerde Partnership, which pioneered the concept of experience design and placemaking, a philosophy that goes beyond traditional architecture to create places where the public can visit, spend time, make memories and feel emotionally connected, designed Zlote Tarasy on behalf of the developer, ING Real Estate Division.

Zlote Tarasy is expected to provide year-round shopping, leisure and entertainment opportunities to the 2 million residents in the Warsaw area, who currently drive to the suburbs for these activities.
