| Thiess continues commitment to the Mount Keith nickel mine Australia's largest mining contractor, Thiess, has signed a three-year extension to the Mount Keith Alliance contract with BHP Billiton. Western Australian General Manager Ric Buratto said the $396 million alliance contract was extended to 2009. The Mount Keith Alliance is responsible for undertaking all mine planning, scheduling, drill and blast, load and haul and mill feed at the mine which operates 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year.
