Black & Veatch ranked one of America's Largest Private Companies

Black & Veatch has been ranked by Forbes as among the largest privately held companies in the United States for 2006. The company is listed at 228th out of 394 companies in the magazine's "America's Largest Private Companies" rankings. The recently issued list included companies with $1 billion or more in annual revenues for 2005. Black & Veatch reached $1.6 billion in revenues for 2005. The company's annual revenues are expected to increase to more than $2 billion for 2006, with year-end results to be finalized in the first quarter of 2007.

The company's total employment grew nearly 23 percent in 2006 from 7,046 to 8,620 professionals. As part of its business growth, the company expanded more than 30 offices globally in 2006, including doubling the size of its UK water operations that also resulted in the continued expansion of its construction services capabilities worldwide.
