Finnish firm awarded EUR 3.1 million contract in Mexico

Poyry's Energy business group has been awarded an engineering contract in a 290 MW gas turbine combined cycle power plant project in Mexico. The client is Isolux Ingenieria, Spain, who has been selected as EPC contractor by the end client, CFE (Comision Federal de la Electricidad), a state owned utility in Mexico. The contract value is EUR 3.1 million.

Poyry's services include conceptual, basic and detail engineering services; construction supervision and commissioning services at site will be defined later on. The services will be supplied jointly by Heymo Ingenieria S.A., Spain and Poyry Energy Oy, Finland. Located in Rosarito (Baja California), the plant is planned to start up in March 2009 after which it will supply electricity to the national grid.

Isolux Ingenieria belongs to Grupo Isolux Corsan, one of the most important engineering and construction companies in Spain.
