New fiber optic connector technology

Greene, Tweed has developed a new fiber optic connector technology, Fiber Optic Extreme, capable of withstanding the harsh environments and extreme conditions commonly faced in challenging applications in a variety of markets, from defense to oilfield. Greene, Tweed's new Seal-Connect Fiber Optic Extreme technology transfers data at rates ten times faster than traditional copper designs, allowing the user to make proactive, real-time decisions. Functioning in environments facing temperatures as high as 432°F and pressures up to 30,000 psi, Fiber Optic Extreme is available in single- or multi-mode configurations.

Fiber Optic Extreme's insertion loss per channel is less than 0.5dB, and the back reflection is -50dB. The patent-pending design can be manufactured in lnconel 718, Hastelloy C-276 or Stainless Steel 17-4pH.
