Acciona carries the Dakar 2007 rally to Africa

Acciona Trasmediterranea, Spain's leading shipping company, carried the crews and equipment for the Dakar rally from Europe to Africa for the second consecutive year. The participants sailed from Malaga to the Moroccan port of Nador, while the rally support team sailed from Algeciras to Tangier. Transportation was coordinated with ASA Logistique, the rally's organisers. Two of the company's ships, the "Ciudad de Salamanca" and "Wisteria", sailed from Malaga to Nador carrying 550 rally participants, 235 motorbikes, 15 quads, 46 cars and 50 trucks. On the same day, another two company vessels crossed from Algeciras to Tangier carrying over 1,000 people, 200 cars and 190 trucks as part of the Dakar rally.
