Acciona to build Forest of Steel in Cuenca designed by Moneo

Acciona Infrastructure, a division of the Spanish construction group Acciona specialising in the development and management of infrastructure, has been awarded the contract to build the first phase of extension to the Cuenca Exhibition Centre. The objective of the first phase is to develop the site and build a 3,702 square metre steel and glass multi-purpose pavilion. The budget for the contract is over 7.2 million euro and the work is expected to be completed in seven months.

The new "El Bosque de Acero" (Forest of Steel) Exhibition Centre was designed by Rafael Moneo and his team. The aim of the project is to restructure and extend the current exhibition site to provide 180,000 square metres of floor space, and to restore over 37,000 square metres of meadowland between the river Júcar and river Moscas.
