Jacobs receives $212 million contract option

Jacobs Engineering Group announced that the U.S. Air Force recently exercised the third option period, worth more than $212 million, of a contract to the Aerospace Testing Alliance (ATA), which provides operations, maintenance, information management, and support to the Arnold Engineering Development Center (AEDC).

A Jacobs subsidiary is the managing partner of the ATA joint venture. The other ATA joint venture partners are Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) and General Physics (GP).

The contract has a maximum potential value of approximately $2.7 billion over a 12-year period, which includes a completed base period, seven options, and four award terms.

AEDC is the largest and most advanced complex of flight simulation test facilities in the world. The center includes 58 aerodynamic and propulsion wind tunnels, rocket and turbine engine test cells, space environmental chambers, arc heaters, ballistic ranges, and other specialized units worth more than $7.8 billion at Arnold Air Force Base, Tenn; and AEDC's remote operations locations at White Oak, Md. and Moffett Field, Calif.
