| GenSelf completes new residential rooftop solar systems GenSelf Corporation has completed the installation of one of the nation's largest residential rooftop solar electric power systems, on a newly constructed home in Indian Wells, CA. The 57.8 kilowatt DC system utilizes 275 SunPower 210 Watt solar modules, 10 SunPower 5200 watt inverters and a custom designed, lay on the roof, non-penetrating rack system from Sun Link. GenSelf also installed a critical load, Outback battery backup system to provide emergency power to the primary living areas in the event of a utility black out. SunPower modules were requested by the customer because they provide high output and efficiency for the available array footprint.Sun Link racking equipment was utilized for several reasons: no penetrations were needed and eliminating potential roof leaks associated with standard stanchions. The solar system is estimated to be able to produce approximately 100,000 kilowatt-hours per year from its five degree, south facing placement. Over 60 tons of greenhouse gas emissions will be displaced annually. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Construction News :: home page |
