| Franklin + Andrews appointed on £3 billion European nuclear facility Franklin + Andrews has been appointed by the Finnish electric utility company Teollisuuden Voima Oy as contract consultants on the construction of Europe’s first new build nuclear reactor facility – Olkiluoto 3 - for more than a decade. Olkiluoto 3 will be the third power plant unit to be built on the west coast of Finland and will generate approximately 1600 MW of electrical output and 4300 MW of thermal power. Excavation works started on site in February 2004 and energy production is due to start in 2009, producing up to 10% of Finland’s electricity requirements.
